The moment you see your costume in the flesh for the first time is a MOMENT!

We put a lot of love and attention into our costume reveals so our clients come away with another memory for life. The hours of workmanship that go into creating Carnival costumes are mind-blowing. The scale of the production process is immense, taking a year from the initial creative process to devise the theme for the school and then the floats before going into production for the thousands of costumes.

In the coming weeks, the schools will show us the available costumes so that people can join their school and parade in front of 90,000 people!

The third in our Meet the Experience Carnival Team

The third in our Meet the Experience Carnival Team series is our fabulous Vanessa. Vanessa’s love affair with Brazil started when she came to Rio on the first leg of a round-the-world trip in 2003. What was meant to be a week's stay became a six-month adventure!

Vanessa moved here in 2006 and trained to be an English teacher. Her passion is teaching. Since then, she has enjoyed teaching hundreds of students aged 4 to 84! Her friends call her an 'inglesioca' and say that due to her passion for all things carioca (beach, surfing, running baile charme, carnival, etc). She is more carioca than they are.

She’s always loved watching samba schools and going to blocos (street parties), but only decided to become part of it in 2021 properly. She fell instantly in love with glitter and feathers, and since then, there's been no looking back! Paraded with Viradouro in 2022 and 2024. Playing instruments (xequerê, surdo) in 2 carnival blocos and currently learning to dance on stilts for the Carnival 2025!

Vanessa is a fantastic host to our clients. She is bilingual and has a deep knowledge and passion for Rio and Carnival. Her energy and love of life are infectious, as is her beautiful smile.

The heartbeat of samba is the drums, and we partner with a true guru, Macaco Branco, to bring unique drumming experiences designed to immerse you in the intoxicating samba rhythms.

This drumming master will teach you the different rhythms and instruments of a samba school drums section. You will get to try the various instruments, and he will put you through your paces as you learn to create the primary samba rhythms.

You can do this as a stand-alone experience or mix it with learning some samba steps. Two left feet are welcome; this is all about feeling the energy!

The second in our series of Meet the Experience Carnival Team is our co-founder, Helen. A down-to-earth, head-in-the-stars Northern English girl who met Samantha in Tulum in 2011. It was love and laughter at first sight!

In 2014, she had life-changing brain surgery, and after learning to walk again, thanks to Samantha’s connections, Helen paraded in the Rio Carnival in 2015. It was a genuinely life-affirming moment, and after coming off the float, she first said to Samantha, “Everyone needs to be able to have this feeling. You have to do a business to help people do this!”. Three years later, they decided to start this business together.

Helen’s brain surgery sparked a deep passion for neuroscience and the power of the subconscious mind. This passion was so intense that she made a bold decision to leave her 20-year high-powered corporate career and become a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Coach. Her dedication to enabling positive change in people’s lives is evident in her unique approach, which blends neuroscience, deep listening, and practical tools and techniques.

Helen is fascinated by confidence and comes alive when empowering people to connect to their inner confidence and live on their terms. She has a deep passion for Rio and its Carnival and is driven by enabling anyone to have this platform to connect to their inner power and shine.

The first in the series of Meet the Experience Carnival Team is our co-founder, the fabulous and very smiley Samantha.

Samantha has spent twelve years parading in the Rio Carnival, rising in the ranks to become the first non-Brazilian musa to lead out her samba school in its 78-year history.

Rio de Janeiro captured Samantha’s heart during a girl’s holiday in 2006. The city’s charm was irresistible, prompting her to make a life-changing decision. Within six months of her return to London, she bid farewell to her role as a Board Director at a PR agency, packed her belongings, and embarked on a new life in Rio.

While exploring Rio’s offerings, Samantha was drawn to the property world. This interest led her to become a property agent and, in 2010, establish In Town Property, a leading Rio property agency. Her entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability are evident in this successful venture.

Samantha deeply loves dance and was immediately drawn to Samba and its intoxicating rhythm, joy, and freedom. On arrival, she decided it was as important to learn samba as Portuguese.

In 2011, Samantha paraded in the Rio Carnival for the first time and has since had the opportunity to parade with some of Rio’s top samba schools, from Uniao da Ilha to Mocidade, Beija Flor to Imperio da Tijuca. In 2017, she had the incredible honour of dancing for Imperio da Tijuca as their Musa for the first float that opened the school, the Abre Alas; it was an unbelievable experience!

Samantha is passionate about Rio, carnival, and samba and wants to share her love and experience with others. She believes everyone needs a chance to live out their sparkle moment and can’t wait to bring this magic to you!

If you believe that you can't be in the Rio Carnival, think again.

One of the biggest myths is that you have to be able to dance and, specifically, dance the samba to be able to parade. You don't. Only one section of the samba school is judged on their samba, and they are on the floor. Our clients are in amazing positions on the floats and in the last 5 years we've definitely had a few with two left feet - who have rocked it!

What you do need is masses of enthusiasm and positive energy. We will immerse you in the culture and history of your samba school, and when you arrive in Rio, we will take you to meet a world leading, samba queen, and teacher who will take you through a parade preparation class. Here, you'll learn moves to interact with the crowd and tap into your inner confidence and presence.

What a moment to be part of @unidosdoviradouro final technical rehearsal in 2024. This rehearsal is performed at the Sambódromo with the whole school and community watching.

The atmosphere was electric and to get to samba all the way down the Avineda complements beautifully when you then perform on the float.
